Charles "Haywire" Patoshik

Charles "Haywire" Patoshik, played by Silas Weir Mitchell, is a fictional character from the American television series, Prison Break. He was introduced to the series as a prisoner from the Fox River State Penitentiary asylum, who was assigned to be protagonist Michael Scofield's cellmate.

Patoshik has a doctorate degree in mathematics from Harvard University, and won four Mathematician of the Year awards. He began to exhibit signs of mental illness during his intense studies. Eventually he snapped, killing both of his parents with a shotgun. He had no history of violent behavior prior to this, and offered no motive for the crime (he claimed to not remember doing it at all). It was later suggested in the episode "Chicago" that his parents had been abusive and in the episode "The Message" that his father was an alcoholic. He was diagnosed as having schizoaffective disorder with bipolar tendencies and committed to the Psychiatric Ward of Fox River, where he earned the nickname "Haywire". According to his FBI file, Haywire also has a severe fear of crowds.

Haywire is a recurring character of Prison Break. He was introduced in the show's third episode, "Cell Test" and the following episode before reappearing in the seventeenth and eighteenth episodes of the first season. Haywire appears again in the last two episodes of the first season and becomes one of the "Fox River Eight". Similarly in the second season, Haywire appears only in selected episodes. He appeared in four episodes in Season 2 and was killed off in the 16th episode, "Chicago." Of the Fox River Eight, he is the third to go down.

David "Tweener" Apolskis

David "Tweener" Apolskis, portrayed by Lane Garrison, is a fictional character from the American television series, Prison Break. Tweener was introduced as a recurring character in the ninth episode of the series' first season, "Tweener".

Born and raised in Boston, Apolskis' great hands gave him a starting position on his middle school's football team. However, after being deemed academically ineligible, he found a better use for his talent – pickpocketing. He became a master, swiping over 200 wallets and 150 watches between the ages of fourteen and nineteen.

However, when he tried to lift a wallet from an off-duty police officer, he was immediately apprehended. Authorities discovered a valuable baseball card collection in his apartment in Boston, which he had stolen from the father of a friend. He thought it was an ordinary collection; in truth, it included the rare Honus Wagner T206, worth $300,000. Due to the card's worth, he was charged and convicted of grand larceny and subsequently sentenced to five years at Fox River State Penitentiary. In the episode "Flight", Sucre's cousin Manche, describes Tweener as the "Vanilla Ice kid".

Fernando Sucre

Fernando Sucre, played by Amaury Nolasco, is a fictional character from the American television series, Prison Break. He was introduced to the series in the pilot episode as the prison cellmate of the series protagonist, Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller).

Of Puerto Rican descent, Sucre grew up in Chicago where he had several run-ins with the law. His mother sent him to live with a relative in New York City to help him out. There, he found a steady job at a warehouse and his girlfriend, Maricruz Delgado.

Fernando Sucre was born and raised in Chicago, and since coming to Fox River has been a model prisoner. Sucre’s offense was holding up a liquor store with an unloaded firearm. He did so to secure enough cash to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend Maricruz, whom he had met three years earlier. The police were on the scene before he had a chance to flee and he was arrested immediately.

Sucre and Maricruz had been dating for two years prior to Sucre’s incarceration and six months ago, Maricruz moved to New York after accepting a job as a buyer for a major Manhattan fashion retailer.

A month later, Sucre’s cousin Hector also moved to New York. He told his friends that his company transferred him, but those who know him best suspect he requested the transfer so that he could be closer to Maricruz.

After escaping from Fox River, Sucre learned that Maricruz and his cousin Hector were going to be married in Las Vegas. Sucre arrived at the chapel hours before the wedding, in an attempt to stop it. However, Hector had notified the local Nevada authorities, and Sucre fled the scene.

Sucre was also allegedly involved in the incident at the residence of Jeanette Owen’s, a Tooele, Utah resident who was held hostage in her own home, while members of the Fox River eight dug up her garage in search of the elusive Westmoreland $5 million.

Benjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin

He is played by Rockmond Dunbar. Franklin was a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army, stationed in Kuwait. While serving as a guard for a detention facility, he discovered illegal torture of several detainees and reported this to his commander. C-Note's commander dishonorably discharged him for his involvement in black market activities after C-Note refused to agree to keep quiet about the incident. With the shame of dishonorable discharge hanging over him, C-Note had great difficulty finding other jobs to support his wife Kacee and daughter Dede, so he resorted to criminal means.

His brother-in-law, Darius Morgan (Mike Jones) was a truck driver and suggested that he could help transport stolen goods. Eventually, C-Note was caught and because he would not give up the identities of his friends, he was sent to Fox River State Penitentiary. He told his wife and daughter that he was getting shipped back to Iraq (as he had not even told them of his discharge from the Army). He begged his brother in law not to let them know he was going to be imprisoned.

Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell

He is plated by Robert Knepper. The character was introduced into the series as a fellow prisoner of the protagonist, Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller), at Fox River State Penitentiary. As the leader of a white supremacist group and someone who shows little remorse for his crimes, T-Bag is the most villainous of the Fox River Eight. Throughout the first season, T-Bag plays a major part in the season's main plot. In the second season, the character's storyline veers from the main plot as a separate subplot. As the series progresses, more of the background story of the character is revealed. T-Bag is described by TV Guide's Maya Schechter as "one of the creepiest characters on television" and is mentioned by Entertainment Weekly as one of "TV's best villains".

A native of Conecuh County, Alabama, Theodore Bagwell was born of both incest and rape after his father sexually assaulted his Down syndrome-afflicted sister. He was also molested by his father. His father is also the person responsible for his eloquent use of language; He once forced T bag to recite ten synonyms for 'destroy'. This was perhaps common place in his childhood. Ever since he was young, Bagwell was constantly in and out of jail, often for vandalism and torturing animals. While in fourth grade, he attempted to set his teacher's house on fire and was sentenced to juvenile hall. During this time, he became a member of the Alliance for Purity, a fictional white supremacist group.

John Abruzzi

He is played by Peter Stormare. John Abruzzi, former Chicago mob boss, is arguably the most infamous prisoner incarcerated at Fox River Penitentiary; and has translated his celebrity into power inside the prison walls. Other inmates, even murderers, defer to Abruzzi in prison-related business. While the correctional officers enforce the rules, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that John Abruzzi runs the prison.

Abruzzi was convicted on two counts of murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder after decades of eluding punishment from Illinois district attorneys. Otto Fibonacci provided eyewitness testimony at Abruzzi’s trial, which convinced the jury to convict Abruzzi of rubbing out two rival gangsters. Abruzzi subsequently put a hit out on Fibonacci, forcing him to enter the Witness Protection Program.

Lincoln Burrows

He is played by Dominic Purcell. Lincoln Burrows dropped out of Morgan Park High School in the 10th grade, and immediately found himself in trouble with the law. Prior convictions include two months for Theft; three months for Criminal Damage to Property; six months for Battery; Six months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; ten months for Battery.
Burrows pled not guilty and was convicted on all counts in connection with the death of Terrence Steadman, a Washington lobbyist and brother of U.S. Vice President Carolyn Reynolds.

MICHAEL SCOFIELD

He is played by Wenworth Miller. Michael Scofield’s educational background leaves question as to why such a man would commit the crime he did. Beginning with an immaculate record at Morton East High School, he would later graduate Magna Cum Laude with a B.S., civil engineering and M.S., civil engineering, from the Loyola University of Chicago.

Scofield was employed as a structural engineer at the prestigious firm of Middleton, Maxwell and Schaum located in Chicago, Illinois.
